Regent Lord of Kingdom of Quel'Thalas

Kingdom of Quel'Thalas

Regent Lord Lor'themar Theron is the current leader of the Kingdom of Quel'thalas, having acted as regent for Prince Kael'thas Sunstrider until his betrayal and later death, upon which he became sole leader of the elven lands. He temporarily assumed leadership of the remaining High Elves following the Scourge Invasion of Quel'thalas. Even with the death of the former ruler, he continues to call himself Regent, and refuses to take the crown, even though his advisors note he could very well make a claim.

During the Second War, he was second-in-command to Ranger General Sylvanas Windrunner, and fought the Horde when it invaded Quel'thalas. While Lordaeron was being ravaged by the Third War, he was serving as a warden of the Sunwell, although he survived the Scourge invasion. He was named Regent by Kael'thas while he went to the shattered world of Draenor.

One of his earlier decisions as Regent Lord was to exile any High Elves who wouldn't convert to the newer methods brought by Grand Magister Rommath, a decision he took knowing he couldn't lead a people divided. He did try to make amends, but Ranger Lord Renthar Hawkspear of the Quel'Lithien Lodge refused his aid because of their banishment, and that Horde agents attacked the lodge. Some time afterwards, he received the visit of the Banshee Queen, Sylvanas, who blackmailed him into sending troops to fight in the War against the Lich King. After telling Rommath that he'd play pawn if it meant the survival of Quel'thalas, Rommath simply noted that another leader of the Sin'dorei told him something similar, and he didn't challenge it, thinking it right - And that they buried him on the Isle of Quel'Danas.

He was present at the return of the legendary elven blade Quel'Delar at the Sunwell, where he allowed Blood Elven and High Elven pilgrims alike to visit it.

With the discovery of Pandaria, Lor'themar was summoned there by Warchief Garrosh Hellscream, and he brought a Silvermoon Reliquary crew and a contingent of Blood Knights, Rangers and Sunfury troops with him to excavate Mogu ruins in search of artifacts. However, he was also secretly opening up negotiations with King Varian Wrynn in hopes of rejoining the Alliance. The negotiations went sour following the Purge of Dalaran, and he was forced to remain in the Horde. When Lei Shen, the Thunder King, returned, he took command of a large force and led them to the Isle of the Thunder King, both for justice and to get a number of artifacts that would give him an advantage should a rebellion against Hellscream begin.

He was present at the Siege of Orgrimmar and when Vol'jin was named Warchief, along with the other Horde leaders (Save Ji Firepaw, injured earlier), bowing in respect to the new Warchief.
